But Parkville was close to a big city, Arnwick with about 200,000 people. People from the countryside began to arrive in Arnwick to find jobs and have a better life. And soon, Parkville became a suburb of Arnwick. It now has over a million people. Jo's family live in one of those new flats—there's no room for small houses any more.

We have always been interested in the moon. 2,000 years ago people already knew it moved around the earth and where it would be in the sky at different times of the year. At that time, everything about the moon was learned by watching it carefully in the sky.
When scientists could use telescopes to study the moon more closely, their ideas began to change. They could see the moon was made of rocks. Most scientists thought moon rocks would be different from those on earth. This was because they believed the moon had once been a planet that had been caught in the earth's gravity(引力)millions of years earlier.
In 1969 moon rocks were finally brought to the earth and studied. Much to their surprise, scientists found that, except for water, the moon and the earth were made of the same things. Once again new ideas were needed for this new information.
After years of study, most scientists now think that the moon was once part of the earth. They believe very early in its history, maybe 4 billion years ago, something about the size of Mars hit Earth. This sent billions of rocks into space around our planet. These rocks slowly joined together and after many years became the moon.

A lot of you are overweight. I talked with the doctors, and they all said you needed more exercise. Some doctors suggested more arm exercises. That’s not because your arms are fat. They said arm exercises would keep the body healthy. But other doctors suggested more leg exercises. They said since you sit in a classroom all day long, you really needed to exercise your legs. So what should you do? I think you should do arm exercises and leg exercises together. I believe the more of the body you exercise, the healthier you’ll be. For example, you can swim, or you can play basketball. They are all good arm and leg exercises. So boys and girls, exercise, exercise and more exercise (keys: CBA)

One possible version: Dear Headmaster,
Everyone likes a person with good manners. But it seems that some of us know little about that. When some students meet their teachers on the bus, in the street, in the park, and so on, they don't greet them. The other day a stranger asked one of my friends the way to the train station, he didn't show him the way, and even never answered. When we need or receive some help, some people forget to say \"please\" or \"thanks\".
I don't think this is good. Why not have a lecture on how to be a person with good manners? What about having a competition on how to do our daily activities?
Thank you!
Yours, Wei Guo
