Reading the novel “TANGJIKEODE” filled me with a myriad of emotions. The story follows the life of an old man who had faced a series of hardships and ultimately found solace in music and poetry.
The story was powerful and deeply moving. It highlighted how even an elderly man can have hopes and dreams, and that age
should not be a factor in achieving them. The old man in the story, Tangji Keode, overcame a difficult marriage and financial troubles to reclaim his passion for music and become a successful poet. His story was truly inspiring to me.
The narrative also touched upon aspects of Chinese culture and history. I was particularly struck by the imagery of the Great Wall throughout the story, symbolizing the struggle of man against nature and the resilience of the human spirit. Moreover, I was struck by how the author intertwined the values and beliefs of the Chinese people into the story, making it even more personal and meaningful.
Overall, the novel was breathtaking and thought-provoking. It
instilled within me an appreciation of resilience and the importance of passion and dreams. It demonstrated how no matter what our age or situation, we can still make a difference in this world and achieve our goals in life.
