Following The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God’s Wife published, which are written by a Chinese American writer Amy Tan, The Bonesetter’s Daughter is another masterpiece presented to all the readers. During the past 本题目研究的现状 more than a century, in the US literary circles, a number of authentic European and American writers have ever produced a lot of works which is around the theme of mother and daughter, but never a work can touch readers the same as the stories of Chinese mother and American daughter that were written by the writers such as overseas Chinese writers. …………………… Amy Tan is a famous Chinese American woman writer in American 学术价值和现实意义 literary circle at present. Her first novel The Joy Luck Club caused an immediate sensation after its publication in the year 1989. Following The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God’s Wife published, which are written by a Chinese American writer Amy Tan, The Bonesetter’s Daughter is another masterpiece presented to all the readers. This thesis describes the complex mother-daughter relationship between three generations of women in a Chinese immigrant family in the United States. And it seeks for the direct and ultimate factors that about the conflicts between mother and daughter.
