宝鸡，古称陈仓，位于陕西关中西部，地处陕、甘、宁、川四省（区）结合部，处于西安、兰州、银川、成都四个省会（首府）城市的中心位置，陇海、宝成、宝中铁路在此交会，是中国境内亚欧*桥上第三个大十字枢纽。辖九县三区，市域面积1.82万平方公里，总人口376万，其中市区人口75万，宝鸡地处东径106°18′~108°03′，北纬33°35′~35°06′。东西长156.6公里，南北宽160.6公里。东连咸阳市，南接汉中市，西、西北分别与甘肃省天水市和平凉市毗邻，全市总面积18172平方公里，其中市区面积555平方公里，建成区面积60.44平方公里。
